Long Ditton Infant And Nursery School

The Heart of Long Ditton since 1911

School Lunches

As a Healthy School, we provide good quality meals and encourage children to maintain a healthy diet, eat a balanced meal and try new things. At Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School, we want our children to enjoy their lunch, we make sure that they are comfortable and have space and time to eat their food.

Our school lunches are provided by SCC’s catering company Twelve15 and are freshly prepared and cooked at Long Ditton St Mary’s Junior School and delivered to us in insulated containers each day.

For more information about Twelve15 and the ingredients they use in school lunches, please visit their website at https://itstwelve15.co.uk/

“SCHOOL MEALS ARE GOOD

It’s not only nutritious and a hot meal every day, but made with quality ingredients, using UK produce (80%), having 30 different menu items to choose from in 3 weeks rotation, made freshly with love by our local passionate team, sourced responsibly with the Earth in mind. It takes the hassle off the shoulders, gives you free time and it’s all for free (Reception, Year1 & 2, Pupil Premium)”

Universal Free School Meals

Since September 2014, all infant school children are eligible for a free school lunch every school day.

When starting school, we will ask you to complete a school lunch form (see below) for your child, giving any dietary requirements.  Please indicate on the form whether your child will have a free school lunch or bring a packed lunch to school every day. This form should be returned to the school office before your child starts school.

Packed Lunch

If you choose to provide a packed lunch for your child every day instead, please note that we are a NUT AND SESAME FREE school.  Please do not include any nuts or sesame or food containing nuts/sesame/seeds in your child’s lunchbox.  As we also pride ourselves on being a Healthy School, one of the ways we help to keep our school healthy is by asking parents/carers not to give children chocolate bars, food containing chocolate, or fizzy drinks in lunch boxes.  For ideas of what you can include in a healthy lunch box, please click on this link Ideas for Healthy Lunch Boxes
