Governing Body of Long Ditton Infant & Nursery School
Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School Governing Body is a body comprising of representatives from the local area, the Headteacher, staff governors, parents, local authority and foundation governors.
The three main aims of the governing body are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school
- Holding the Headteacher and leadership team to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
The Governors meet at least termly as a whole governing body and more frequently in smaller sub-committees. All of our meetings are closed.
The sub-committees are delegated specific authority, and in return must report their actions and decisions to the full body. The sub-committees are:
- Children and Learning, and
- People and Resources
The day to day running of the school is the responsibility of the Headteacher and staff. The governing body has a range of duties and powers and a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement.
